A Yale University Maternity Session - New Haven County Pregnancy Photographer

Lindsay and Chris approached me about wanting to do a maternity session but wanted something “different” than the typical fall backdrop, because they’d already done that for their engagement and wedding. Different? That is music to my ears! We decided to use Yale University - it’s one of my favorite spots, especially in the winter, and has an amazing variety of rustic and industrial backdrops to use right here in Connecticut.

Lindsay used several dresses and accessories from my client closet (and even Chris got in on the fun of outfit changes!) and I went to work on matching locations to each style and color - possibly my favorite part of the creative process. We amazingly got ALL of this variety within a one block walk, and then ended our session on a nearby rooftop for sunset.

Lindsay and Chris were down for anything, and we had so much fun exploring New Haven together and getting to know each other. This pandemic is such a strange time, but I know that my maternity clients are so happy to get dressed up and celebrate their pregnancy in a way that is safe!

If you are looking for a more creative or unique backdrop for your maternity or family photos, I highly recommend considering an urban backdrop and Yale is one of many great options within a close drive to Fairfield County, CT. Ready to start the fun? Reach out and let’s start planning!
